Careers at Ohlson Lavoie Collaborative

Working at OLC is more than just a job – it’s a career unlike anywhere else in the world of design.

OLC is an ESOP, which stands for Employee Stock Ownership Plan.  In a nutshell: we’re Employee Owned, so each of us has a significant stake in the success of the firm.  When we interview for a position, it’s not just to fill an immediate need with an able body – it’s really an interview for a partnership, a long-term relationship that will endure.  From day one, you are part owner in the company, and the results of our hard work are reflected in our salary and bonus structure.

Yes, we offer the standard benefit package that includes employee health and dental, disability and life insurance coverage.  We’ve got 401k, cafeteria plan, etc, etc, etc.  We have a business casual office environment, offering flexible work schedules with the ability to adapt your lifestyle.

In fact, OLC is all about lifestyle – from the buildings we design, to the clients we serve and the places we work.  We specialize in the design of state-of-the art facilities that encourage people to become healthy and happy, and we do the same for those we employ.  We are developing Wellness Programs that celebrate the diversity of our different offices, we encourage health club memberships among our staff by providing incentives, and we sponsor local sporting teams and fitness events whenever possible.

We recognize that our people are our greatest asset, and therefore we believe strongly in investing in our continuing education.  We have a successful mentorship program, higher-education stipends available, and encourage our interns to join the Intern Development Program through NCARB or otherwise track their experience to obtain licensure in their chosen field.  As you move up through the ranks, reimbursement for membership in professional organizations is provided and active participation is encouraged.

OLC is Green, and a proud member of the US Green Building Council.  Several OLC recreation and wellness centers are LEED® Certified – the Health and Fitness Center at Washtenaw Community College (Gold), Institute for Healthy Living at Good Shepherd in Longview, Texas (Gold), and the Robert Taylor Community Center in Sarasota, Florida (Silver).

Currently, OLC has no open positions and we aren’t accepting resumes, but we invite you to check back on this page periodically, where we will update with any openings as they become available.
