Roper Saint Francis Hospital Emergency Department
Roper St. Francis Hospital’s free-standing emergency department could no longer comply with good practice standards and needed a new location to provide services. OLC and Davis Wince Ltd. Architecture (medical planner), were engaged by, SensusOne, a private developer, for the adaptive reuse of a failed restaurant. The building, located in North Charleston, North Carolina required significant modifications to function as a replacement free-standing emergency department for Roper St. Francis Hospital.
The project scope included state-of-the-art space planning based on lean design principles for more efficient flow and function of the procedure and trauma rooms, nurse’s stations, and exam rooms.
The facility has 14 exam rooms and supporting functions such as diagnostics and imaging departments with CT scan, x-ray, ultrasound and a fully equipped diagnostic laboratory. The interior décor package includes durable, cost-efficient, modern finishes coordinated to align with roper brand messaging for out-patient services

Palm Beach Garden Tennis Center Club House
OLC recently completed Architecture and Interior Design services for a new Tennis Center Club House for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Thank you to our client, the City of Palm Beach Gardens for allowing us to help bring your facility to life and to our project team for all of their efforts, Miller Legg, Landscape Architect/Civil Engineering; RGD Consulting Engineers, MEP and Structural Engineering; and Profitable Food Facilities.
The Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center is a premier community public tennis facility that includes 18 hydro-grid clay courts. Year-round programming is offered for all ages and abilities. The center is host to many USTA tournaments, as well as the Palm Beach County Women’s Tennis Association League.
OLC examined the proposed design in the RFQ of re-using the existing building in addition to building another one in the middle of the courts. OLC identified to the City the pros and cons of this proposed design and worked with the City to develop the new design. A fresh new facility was built in the original clubhouse location which saved lots of funds allocated to developing additional parking spaces, extending utilities, as well as limiting the downtime on the courts during construction. The result is a new facility with more offerings and a second-floor providing banquet rooms and terraces that opened up the views to the courts. As the facility opened, it became the talk of the town, that everyone will be proud to have for the years to come.
