Berthoud Town Park

In the fall of 2018, the Town of Berthoud, known as the ‘Garden Spot of Colorado,’ selected OLC as their collaborative partner to re-imagine the Town’s Park Master Plan. A key element of the master plan was to reinvigorate this historic park for current and future generations, creating dynamic opportunities for the community to come together and providing new active zones appealing to all ages and abilities. As a result, a new interactive splash pad, embodying nature and reflecting the beauty of the surrounding area, along with a new bathhouse, replaced Berthoud’s 45-year-old pool. Additionally, a picnic pavilion, shade structures, a destination playground, and shelters were added in phase one, along with renovations to parking and trails.

The OLC team also provided schematic design through construction administration for the second phase of this project, which includes two civic lawns – Founders Green and The Meadows – as well as a bandstand and art features strategically located throughout the park.
